Just A Theory Why Approval Is Taking So Long

JUST A THEORY

Cause FreePay is losing a ton of money by sending all these 360s and ipods out.

They're tryna hold off everything until a new generation ipod comes out so the videoipods would go down in retail price.

Same thing with the xbox, its just a matter of time before it goes down to about 300 dollars which would save freepay a bunch of money.

because approval taking over 4 weeks to complete just isn't cutting it.

my two cents

Somehow I don't think so. I'd take a lottery ticket over the chances of the 360 going down to $300 in the near future. 8)

02-05-2006 19:24:40

It will probably be another year, at least, before the 360 goes down in prices.

And probably at least six months before the iPods are updated.

Plus... why would they want to send their customers obsolete products?

Captain All That

02-05-2006 20:00:35

ha ha... yeah, because the xbox hasn't been $150 for 2 or 3 years now...

They are probably revamping their whole company and to top things off a lawsuit in their pocket, it might get hectic.

But the question is how hectic?

For the past few days, the entire Customer Service team has been opening envelopes and entering in data from the approval forms so that the Approval team can begin to approve all outstanding accounts.

As a result, you should see the approval process accelerate rapidly over the next few days.

Anyways, is anyone from the ops team placing those GC orders for the 360s? It was supposed to be this week.

This makes no sense. So freepay has revamped there system to make it more profitable by using people to enter data from sheets of paper that used to be entered electronically anyways. If you think about it, this whole approval form is a waste of money on both sides. Freepay now has to have more employees to man the mail room, and enter data, and customers are leaving due to all this BS. I know I will never recommend Freepay to anyone again. I don't know what the hell there thinking. (

Exactly! This is exactly what I was thinking when I learned about the new TOS. All the manual forms do is increase their costs as well as ours. I imagine that hiring or transferring employees to man the mail room and manually enter forms will end up being quite costly.

PS - How do you know when FreePay has received your Approval Form? Is your status page updated to show that they have received it? Or do you just have to hope that they have it and eventually you'll see that you were either approved or denied?

there is no indication that they received the form on the site. i submitted a question two weeks ago asking whether my form was received and have no answer despite three follow-ups on my part. it's just a wait and see while my deadline gets closer. I can't wait to hear how some of my referrals dont' qualify a week before the deadline. roll

They did it because they thought they could make it harder for people to get approved because it's harder to mail it in then just submit it on the internet.

And now they are getting screwed because of it. ?

What a great idea making approval use snail mail! It would be easier to find a golden ticket in 500,000 bars of chocolate than to send out all orders of just one product.

Well... keep at it.

That is what registered mail is for.

tramahound

04-05-2006 08:33:21

I sent mine in registered mail, and I have usps.com telling me mine was received a month ago, unfortunately I have no way of knowing that freepay actually got to it yet. mine could be under a pile of interoffice envelopes for all i know. some kind of notification on the site that i check hourly would be nice. especially with only weeks left before i'm cut off due to the tos. if i get any gray or blacks at this point i'm pretty much out of luck. this kind of situation is what freepay was banking on i'm guessing though. that's unfortunate.

If there is some kind of manipulation on Freepay's part to delay approval until after 5/31 so we all loose our referrals and therfore our free stuff, anyone interested in joining a class action lawsuit?

Let's not get our panties up in a bunch just yet. I'm taking Jake's word for it that approvals will start to pick up very soon. I really think that they are feeling the pressure of May 31st just like we are. I don't think things are going how they had planned it, but they are working hard to get caught up. At least that is what my idealistic mind is trying to tell me.

parkers

04-05-2006 13:55:16

I actually got a response from CS about them getting my approval form,

We received your form on 03/16/2006. Our approval department is currently approving accounts on a daily basis. Please continue to check your account status with an update.

FINALLY!! I've been asking the same question 5 times, and all I wanted was those 8 little numbers. Well now i wait till the end of the month to have 2 referrals conveniently denied just in time for them to save $400. .......sigh.......

whosyourdaddy24

04-05-2006 14:35:57

and dey confirmed it was recieved 4/25

good to hear they got it

now its time for freepay to do their thing

jeff7602

04-05-2006 15:47:14

If you sent your form certified and the usps says they got it, don't send tickets in asking if they got it. It just makes the people over at freepay have to do extra work answering pointless cs tickets when they could be doing something productive to help us get our stuff quicker.

Akademikz

04-05-2006 18:34:57

I was going to say the same thing; but half of the the people on these forums are little whiners. The only people asking if it's been received are the ones who sent it without registration, like me. Haha.

it kinda adds to the speculation

people that did ps3 offers are already approved

and the ps3 didn't come out yet so they don't have to worry about that

the ipods and everything else are in stock

back to my theory

could be waiting for a price drop
