Did you just crank them all day for S&G, or you don't like your ears......set them on ultra bass or something. I've had my first set for 7 months now and they're as good as new, didn't say they were great......but still function as new.

Generally the factory headphones are pretty durable, but I had a pair of brand new sony headphones that "blew." If it's actually a component problem, you might want to try taking them apart and checking for loose connections. lililiI don't recommend this if you don't know what you're doinglilili If it comes to it, spend some of the $300 you saved getting your free iPod, and splurge on those $9.99 headphones.

$500 for the Shure E5c. Who the heck would pay that much for earphones? I hate my iPod earphones that came with my iPod. They fall out of my ears to easily. Will need to buy new ones soon.

Had them around maybe 3/4 for 10-20 minutes max. Most other times they were at 1/2. I had the EQ set to Treble boost.
