quite a dilema
who has gotten the xbox and who has gotten the gift certificate?
i want to get a sense of the number of people who have gone for it

i think more of the dilemma for me is to get the gift card or wait for the 360, but what will happen on april 21st? will freepay go down because of all this new mess? should i wait for the 360 and what happens if it doesn't come before then, thats my question.

from what i have heard its the date freepay is going to court, in order to be sued that is. anyways its from what i have heard and i see the date mentioned here a lot too, so i dunno.
I'd go with the GC.. That way you have peace of mind that you have $400 in a GC to hang on to instead of $0 if FreePay folds.

what if those that wait longer get a video game too? they did that with freegamingsystems like 6 months back. but i kinda doubt it since we're talking about a couple hundred people. shrug

Regardless, I'd still take the GC.. April 21st is not far from now and you never know what could happen there either... They could get a small fine, a fine that would bankrupt them or even force the company to shut down effective immediately. I'm not worried about a game since I can always go to the store and buy one (those are not sold out.)

Doubt it. Terms and Conditions say that the steps we take only qualify us to receive the free gift. Freepay is in no way legally bound to send us the gift. This has always been in there.

I only ordered in January, about the 18th to be exact. Would I be able to ask for a GC? I've been assured there won't be any suing, but I'm afaird of waiting all this time and not getting it.

i don't think so.
I honsestly thought back in december this would all be done late january to early february, but microsoft is having serious problems meeting the demand, and untill they can get a steady shipment of systems into stores, I don't see how freepay can aquire a large number themselves

And this was the second ticket I had opened, first one was never answered. So great CS.. one they keep delaying shipments, then giftcards are offered, to selected people, and now must wait to shipments come in? Which is when considering the help page is still in the March 2006 Timeframe..

I was going to wait for my 360 anyway...but it really sounds like something is happening now. Either it's a good thing, and they're finally getting the 360s in...or, FP is about to get nailed with a massive fine, and nobody is getting anything anymore. Please jake, at least give us some sort of answer.

I requested twice, with actual responses from CS that closed my request and said "if you would still like the GC, get back to us" and then I requested again and now it's been 6 days and they haven't gotten back to me.

Well you probably wont have to worry about tax, it sounds like the giftcard option is off the table. We just get to wait around and see if FreePay got their hands on any.

Terms and conditions also say they cant sell our info. They are going to court for that so obviously the Terms and conditions arent set in stone wink
