I think I'd rather have a 20 gb, but if I were less tech-savvy and more into aesthetics, I might opt for the mini. Depends what kind of girl you're going for, I guess~

Get the pink Mini. My wife is crazy for a mini, for her it's all about the cuteness factor. She doesn't care that you can get 5x the storage for only $50 more (or in this case you can get either for free). The mini is just cuter.

Dont give the girl an Ipod UNLESS you are actually married to her. I would never give a girl anything like that , I would feel like such a doormat niceguy type and more than likely get dumped for some jock. Then I would probably have the dumb luck of running into the guy she dumped me for and seeing him with the IPOD , I bought for my honey.

But to get that much more storage for just an extra $50, and then, not do that? shock If you like girly things, cop the pink case and put Hello Kitty stickers on em... But hey, to each it's own. I just think it makes more sense to get the most out of your money..

The girls I know prefer the mini by far; so much so that I've actually started poking fun at my one guy friend who has a mini. You should definitely get the 20 GB though, because you can always return it to the apple store for credit and get the mini plus some accessories, especially if you can get a student discount on the mini.

Maybe they want the mini because they don't know any better? i know before I did the freeipods thing, my little sister was thinking of buying a mini for herself. After letting her know that it's a ripoff when you can get 20GB for $50 more and the size wasn't even that much bigger, she realized that it was smarter to get the 20GB. Either that or they got the mini as a gift or they just have money to throw around like that and they didn't care about price.

I've been thinking about this theory for a couple days. Just yesterday this chick was like "what type do you have" I'm like "the white 20gig" shes like "i have a green mini, its sooo cute" shes blonde of course. Then i realized that the theory held true about a lot of people.
