Jake, exactly what does "Back Ordered" mean?

I could be wrong, but it sounds as if it means all we need to do now is sit and wait on our items to arrive, and don't have to worry about any more approval steps/procedures, is that correct?

Also, since I know it's going to be asked, what is the difference between "processing" and "back ordered"?

johnjimjones

08-03-2006 22:10:53

Backordered means they don't have the item in stock and you'll wait til they receive an order from one of their suppliers.

Thanks, I was fairly certain of that part....I'd just like an "official" answer from Jake.

Well, I sent in a support ticket yesterday which read

[quote4dd6929985]My account was approved and changed to "processing" on Feb. 10. It then changed to "Pending approval" and then today it finally changed to "back ordered". What does that mean?[/quote4dd6929985]

I got this response today

[quote4dd6929985]Back order is when we are in the process of checking your completed offer along with your referrals. Once we are done with this process your status should say pending. THank you[/quote4dd6929985]

Yay! Going through approval yet again! roll

Ok...so "Back Ordered" means "Pending Approval" (as I figured, see my post in the 360 thread), so what does "Pending" mean?

egyptianruin

09-03-2006 08:30:55

LOL That they will check it again to see if your refs are unique. Who knows with FreePay they might make a new term up anyday now for what processing means.

It is just a result of us having to verify that a certain offer was completely correctly. We aren't checking for fraud or illegitimate referrals, hence it will be quicker and easier.

The reasoning for this has been explained elsewhere on the board...

tramahound

they should really put a glossary in the help section of the freepay site. if there are set terms regarding your order it'd be easiest to just have them listed.

Jake, I must have missed it...is there a problem with one of the offers?

yeah, aol musicnow apparently is causing all sorts of problems over there.
Apparently not the only thing. Jake WTF is going on over there?! I picture people running around like crazy!(like in that super bowl ad where they hide the budweiser around the office!)

What offer? My offer, any of my referrals offers? This is very confusing.

So does this mean they are rejecting all of the credit for music now or just the ones who "did it wrong"
Edit Was that an offer were you had to stay on past the free trial?

I remember having problems with AOL MusicNow on one of my sites. After hitting the Submit button on the last page, I got to some sore of error page, then when I closed that, a pop-up ad appeared to sign up for AOL. This happened a few times. I eventually gave up and did a different offer. I wonder how many people clicked the pop-up, thinking it was the same referral. Is that what the problem is?

massman

09-03-2006 12:53:46

hey, not for nothing, but i manage a business and when something is put on back order it means that they have the order sent and the vendor will ship once back in stock.

not that the product is being evaluated or whatever.

back order; noun.

An item not currently in stock but to be sold or delivered when it becomes available, as in We don't have the shoes in white, but we can make them a back order. The verb back-order means "to obtain such an item," as in The furniture store is going to back-order the sofa for us (dictionary.com, 2006)

Saying it's on back order is liVERYli misleading!

yeah i have a pending credit for aol with musicnow on trainn. The strange thing was the link thru trainn did not give the same exact offer as what was described, now that i think about it
hopefully we will get things sorted out at freepay and get the kinks worked out of the new system )

byaaah

12-03-2006 05:52:48

I think we need to be told exactly when our ipod will ship, because this is becoming ridiculous. We know there are a ton of ipods everywhere, therefore ipods are NOT the problem. Glitches, re-approval, Back-ordered, TOS changes, etc, something is seriously wrong at freepay. I get the feeling that they are trying to get out of shipping stuff by any means necessary. I dont think they've shipped ANYTHING over the last month, and this worries me. I'm hoping we dont get screwed, but....

Sparta

12-03-2006 12:58:50

I agree with byaaah. You think after a month wait, freepay should do something about the glitches. Especially answering support tickets. <<..

JJPRO11

12-03-2006 14:15:12

im starting to think more and more that i will never see my 360 xbox from freepay.. its not like they dont exist, because other sites have been shipping them out.. theres just too many orders to fulfill and it just wont happen.

i think a certain little company is running low on dough right now and heading in reverse rather quickly. wink

stagim

12-03-2006 15:51:03

I agree, it seems like the ipods, 360's, macminis, psps, etc... are all being delayed week after week for different reasons and think they might have some cash flow problems.

maybe they should stop paying jake.

Menotti

14-03-2006 05:28:09

But I went from Pending Approval TO Back Ordered. According to this thread, once I'm done with BO, I go to PA. What in the world is going on? Customer support won't give me a straight answer. I placed my order on 1/27. THIS IS NOT RIGHT. STATUS CHANGES SHOULD NOT BE MADE TO SHUT PEOPLE UP.

Menotti

14-03-2006 05:39:58

Come to think of it, I've been deceived so many times by this company.
-Refs all greened
-Placed order 1/27
-Processing
-Pending Approval (then I ask what is PA? oh it's us rechecking your account)
-Back Ordered (then I ask what is BO? You would think that it means they don't have any in stock. No? Now I hear that they are checking my account yet again? How about instead of "Back Ordered" you write "Checking referral authenticity AGAIN")

Also, their is much contradiction between what Jake says and what Customer Service says. Both are beating around the bush.

I just have a feeling that they are not going to be shipping anything out for a while. Has anyone gotten anything recently?

JANUARY 27 - when I placed my order. JANUARY 27!

I'm close to filing a complaint with the BBB. All of this misinformation, lack of information, and deception has to stop.

stagim

14-03-2006 06:58:56

I agree, I think filing a complaint with the BBB is a good idea. It is not right to have to wait 2 months to get the product you ordered. It doesn't matter if it is free or not, you placed an order back in Jan and still haven't received it.

fitzuf

14-03-2006 07:12:01

Jan. 27 here as well - I am going through the "back ordered" re-verification process as well. This is complicated roll

Jake

14-03-2006 07:26:15

I read an article yesterday that said M$ shipped out about 240,000 units in January and 150,000 in February.

Since they would need at least a million to a million and a half units in order to cover the initial demand, its not surprising that wholesalers cannot get them.

stagim

14-03-2006 07:47:46

Jake, I know that the 360's might still be hard to get huge shipments in from wholesalers but what about the macminis and some other products that people have been waiting awhile for?

hrdfarkr

14-03-2006 07:53:36

They are finally on the way. The order was finally placed after weeks of delays (explanations for which were never given to me).

So these will ship very soon. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

hey Jake,

Any idea on if this initial shipment will cover only those people who ordered until like November or if it will cover virtually everyone up to this point? (i placed my order mid january and want to know if it looks like I'll be included in this wave or if I'll have to catch the next one)

crazyates

15-03-2006 19:37:35

dude i've been processing since jan 30th. it's been a very long 6 weeks. 6 WEEKS! I was hoping to have it a fun month ago. My dad is starting to tell me that i'm never gonna get my iPod, and while i still hold out that i'm gonna get it (i still trust you jake, don't let me down here wink)....it's hard when you throw trash like this around.

"back ordered" means they're checking mine and my ref's offers? wtf is up with that? i mean it's already been done already when i was "pending approval". Would you like me to show you the 5 trades i did for refs, as well as the five other freepay sites i signed up for during those trades.

Seriously i'm pretty confident in Jake that i will eventually get my iPod (mainly cuz i know i did everything by the book, no scamming for me)....but after this long it's really upsetting that they're taking this long.

mpbollywoodking

21-03-2006 04:13:41

I think i know what BackOrdered means.

Because some of your referrals have done MusicNow, Freepay is having problems with that offer. So, they put accounts on BackOrdered. This way, it allows users to get more referrals to make up for the referrals that did MusicNow. So, BackOrdered means, giving you the chance to get referrals without having a time limit like the 90 Day Policy.

That's pretty fair to me don't you say?

mpbollywoodking

21-03-2006 09:47:39
