This thread is simply for questions regarding our new policy.

That is all that I want to see posted here.

Later today, I am having a meeting with my superiors to ask questions about all of this so I will take your questions to them.

Ask away.

I believe our meeting will be at 4pm EST so you have until then at least.

What happens if I get all of my refs within the 90 days and mail the form in, for an example say I mail it in right at 90 days. Once you get the form there is one ref that isn't approved, do I have more time to get more refs in?

Is the "pending approval" status on the xbox 360 site for those who were approved after the new year but before march 1st (the change in the TOS) a result of a computer error or do the new TOS apply to these users now?

The response from freepay on this issues appears to be contradictory, with support tickets initially informing the user that everything is ok but later leaving open the possibility the user can still be put on hold even though they have been through the approval and processing stage. Is the user safe from being on hold as long as they do not violate the TOS between the time frame of processing and STV? It is difficult to determine what some of the referrals will do, which makes many users nervous going through what appears to be an endless approval process in this "pending approval" stage.

Thank you for taking the time to address our concerns Jake, we know the people at freepay are working extremely hard to keep us informed.

06-03-2006 10:24:12

If you do not complete a site within 90 days, does your account get deleted, allowing you to start over again? Or does signing up again violate the TOS?

How does the policy apply to higher referral sites (i.e. laptops)?

chillywilly

06-03-2006 10:43:33

If you have a referral that didn't get approved and you are within a week of the 90 day limit, do you get more time to find another referral to complete the site?

Also, will there be an exception for laptops.freepay.com, extending more time to complete that site, given twice the number of referrals needed (and possibly increasing the chance that not all of them will be approved the first time around).

Supacold

06-03-2006 10:48:03

If one of the referrals gets rejected, do we have to go through the whole process of submitting the form?

justinag06

06-03-2006 11:02:55

I agree with chillywilly. I can live with just 90 days on just about any other site, but I am curious to know if

either offering more time to complete, or maybe a lower ref gift option, like one of the 10 ref laptops from the free desktop site? In case I were to get 17 and be out of time I can still cut my losses and recieve something.

I think an extra 60 or 30 days would be optimal for laptops, but really i'm just looking for anything.

nextlevel

06-03-2006 11:27:28

Will there be any compensation on sites with referrals, that are not completed in time?

Say I have 10 referrals on laptops.freepay would I get nothing, or maybe a giftcertificate for each referral. (Some sites offer you a "runners up" gift, if you don't finish in time).

Other questions I think were already asked.
What happens if a referral gets dqed near the end of your time limit.
Any added on time for harder sites? example laptops

Does the "Pending Approval" situation on some sites (freeipods in my case) have any effect on shipping out of items we've already been approved for?

I was STV on 2/6, then it went to "Pending Approval" and now i'm in limbo.

1. Are all the offers going to be instant (as claims your websites)...?
2. Will laptops get a extended time limit...?
3. What happens if a referall doesnt get approved...do we get more time to find another?
4. What is the penalty at the end of the 90 days? Can we retry, or are we done for good?
5. What is better Nutrasweet or Splenda? (Just kidding Jake we dont hate you - your probally the only thing that sumwhat makes my like freepay).

All of the offers say INSTANT CREDIT, is that to be in effect soon? If not, that needs to be so since manual credit will take too long to fit within the time limit.

What's the purpose of now requiring a form to be filled out and then snail-mailed? It seems to me, from a business point of view, that this will only increase your time and costs. As it seems that the new TOS are intended to save you money it seems counterproductive to introduce a new step that will only increase your costs.

Secondly, the new terms of service are really outrageous. I understand the need to impose a time limit for how long you have to complete the requirements, but a blanket 90-day requirement for all of the sites is outrageous. It's a matter of fact that sites that require more referrals will require more time to complete.

So my question is, how can you justify giving 90 days to complete ipodshuffles.freepay.com which requires only 3 referrals and only 90 days to complete laptops.freepay.com which requires 20 referrals?

This is clearly unfair. The new terms of service make it extremely difficult for anyone to complete sites that require 10 referrals or more and all but impossible for a very select few to complete sites that require 20 referrals. Something needs to be done to remedy this situation.

Here's my proposal. Why not make the time limit correlate directly with the number of referrals required for each site? I think that 1 month per referral required would be a good requirement. That way you'd have 3 months for iPod Shuffles (3 referrals), 5 months for 5 referral sites, 10 months for 10 referral sites, etc. While some people may want more time, I think that this would be a good compromise.

At any rate, something must be done for sites that require a lot of referrals. They simply will not survive with such a short time period.

Thanks for listening!

This has been asked before, but I want to sneak the question in again before you have your meeting with the powers that be.

What happens if you reach the 90 day deadline with your account? Are you able to start over or are you disqualified for good?

jfaninord

06-03-2006 12:42:13

1.
Is it 30 days after the day I complete my required number of referrals and my required signup date (like I think it said in the TOS) that I have to mail in my approval form, or is it 30 days after the original 90 day deadline?

(I ask because on ipodnanos.freepay.com it currently says "Your form must be mailed (according to the postmark) by 6/29/2006" on my status page, which is 120 days after March 1st, not 30 days after today).

2.
Let's say I mail in my approval form tomorrow, and it is received quickly and processed in 4 weeks (April 3rd). If one of my referrals is disqualified, do I have until May 30 to refer more people and submit a form for approval again? Or am I completely disqualified at that point even though I had until May 30 to complete all requirements? Or am I perhaps given additional time to complete the requirements since one of my referrals was disqualified?

(I ask this because everyone else only seems interested in what happens if they complete their requirements at practically the last date possible, and not what happens if they get the form sent in and discover a referral was disqualified far in advance)

Drummer16161616

06-03-2006 12:56:48

I did not ask why they had the new policy, I only asked questions about it

1) Why require a snail-mail form? (This seems like it would increase costs over an electronic form).
2) What is their justification for requiring 90 days for sites with lots of referrals (10-20 referrals)?

These are questions that I'd like to hear answered and I'd imagine there are a lot of other users that would be interested in the answers. Of course FreePay can choose not to address these questions and that's their choice, but that doesn't mean that people don't have these questions. Either way I'd still like to hear their answers if possible.

2 simple questions, 1 hard question

1) Will you add w9's to laptops voucher? Or tell people to send one in, in the description. Since none is currently mentioned. I would hate to wait 4 weeks only to be told I had to then mail in a w9.

2) On ps3 it says pending approval? Yet account was already approved a month ago. When can we print vouchers to send in.

3) Will you miss me when i finish all freepay sites?

Jake, with all due respect, I haven't "sat" on laptops.freepay. It's just hard to get 20 refs when you can't afford to trade or buy them all, which I'm sure you know.

I wasn't referring to you with my statement but I totally understand where you are coming from. My comment was directed at the situation that good2speed described in his post.

I will see what can be done in this regard but I can't make any promises.[/quote904025b6e5]

Most importantly, and I'll embolden these....

[b904025b6e5]If I have signed up for a site, yet not completed any offer, nor received any referrals, and the account lapses, can I sign up again?

If I have signed up for a site, and not completed an offer, yet recieved referrals, but not for a considerable amount of time, [i904025b6e5]and[/i904025b6e5] the account lapses, can I sign up again?[/b904025b6e5]

To deny people from re-signing up in those situations is unfair. I hope you can see that. (Especially when they put those off to complete a laptop site ;) )

Additionally, from what I see, it would be in Gratis' interest in allowing people to sign up again for any site, provided they didn't complete the first time [b904025b6e5]and[/b904025b6e5] had to do another offer to start again.

What are the "powers-that-be" response to that?

I can only see that increasing revenue....

Just a few Quick questions I would like to add.

Jake
A) Do the new rules in Freepay’s TOS have any consequence on those of us who have been put on Hold for any Freepay site immediately prior to the March 1, 2006 implementation of the New TOS?

B) I would also like to know; what specifically happens to our Freepay accounts after the 90 day time limit has expired?

C) And Finally, what is the realistic time frame (in days) in which you will be able to post some concrete answers to the many serious questions presented in this Thread about how the New TOS will work in our real world situations?

For most of us are 90 days is already ticking while we wait for Jake or Freepay to reply to our thread posts and CS Tickets. Thank you for a speedy response.

Genuinely Concerned about Freepay’s future,

hey jake, first off i appriciate freepay. i just had one thought. maybe it would have been alittle bit better to instead of 90 day period, you instake a 45 day inactive period where if you do get a green in that time you get closed down. this way, if you have those accounts that were just opened to check it out, or just to help a friend with no intention of completing the site closed down, but you give people who have intentions to completing hope. you can also have this scenario with a yellow instead of a green and only 30 days for a yellow. just my thought. if this doesnt belong here im going to post it in a new thread so mods, feel free to delete which ever you feel. thanks for letting me put up the idea.

"We recommend that you use recorded mail."

Now, I went to the post office and the worker laughed and said that there is no such thing as recorded mail. She said that it probably meant certified mail, so that is what I did.

It says that it requires a signature, so will you guys be available to sign for these letters? Also, is certified mail what you meant by "recorded mail," or is there some other way you recomment shipping it.

I am curious in case i am able to get enough refs on my other sites before that ominous deadline.

To elaborate on a post already made

If you have MORE than enough referrals and one or two DQ - which still leaves you with the minimum number of referrals needed - do you need to send in a form all over again and wait the approval process a second time?

This sucks!!!
How do we know if freepay has even got the approval form without spending more $$ on shipping it for our "free" item???!!!
At least when I clicked the approve button I knew it went through!!
Now we just wait in limbo while our 90 days tick away not knowing if our form is even gonna get noticed!

I don't know if its been said or not, but here's a suggestion/question I sent in my approval form last Thursday and my certified mail receipt says it was received by Freepay this past Monday, but I don't know if Freepay is actually processing that right now. [be652834e0b]Could there be a "Processing/Approval Request Received" Status page so that we know everything got there?[/be652834e0b]

I think it has been suggested and Jake said 'he would see what he could do about it.' But if it doesn't happen til after my 90 days, what good is it to me?!
Times a tickin'!

I concur. Knowing that the request was at least received will be a peace of mind.

[quote83bc174218="phunkstar"][quote83bc174218="stagim"]What happens if I get all of my refs within the 90 days and mail the form in, for an example say I mail it in right at 90 days. Once you get the form there is one ref that isn't approved, do I have more time to get more refs in?[/quote83bc174218]
This is my main concern as well, but I'll state a more realistic scenario that is entirely plausible and likely to happen

If we send in the approval form at day 60, and receive notice on day 89 that a ref is DQ'd...what are our options?[/quote83bc174218]

I can GUARANTEEE their answer - you just need to get more than the minimum to sign up - that way you will have extras if on DQs

Jake we are still waiting for your answers to our Freepay TOS questions!

Was the 48hrs (or so) to get back answers from management thing just a mean joke?

Jake, you titled this thread "Ask your question about our new policy here" but so far you are short the answers for almost all of the important questions posed by your peers and Freepay members about Freepay’s new policies and how they will work in any given real world situation.

What gives? Do you not care to follow-up on your promise to deliver some concrete answers or are you already looking for a new employer or a life vest?

Can we ask questions not related to the new policy? I'm guessing not.

If this didn't concern me, then I wouldn't bother answering to the question. Believe me, I am frustrated too.

So it sounds like from your last response that your higher ups haven't given any answers yet. Am I correct in this assumption?

I would be frustrated too if you were trying to help us customers without any reasonable answers to their questions.

Hi Jake, I got a problem with an offer I did. I completed an offer 3 weeks ago, and didn't receive credit, so I tried to send them an inquiry, but now, I need to fax my info to them? I tried that too for the past couple of days, and everytime I call, there was no answer. Can I just PM you the info, so you can just forward it to them?
