Do you think freepay is done for?

not done for, but with the xbox360s and the 90 day limit they pretty shot their foot off with a nuke.

360's just now started to show up in stores, FreePay is still working on getting a bulk shipment of them in order to fufill orders. I know it's hard to do but we just have to be patient. Although they changed their TOS they still will send us our stuff.

Yep, now that my account is all done, I'm going to go buy one this week. I'll sell my Freepay one, whenever it comes. If I have to take a loss on it, oh well, I guess it's the cost of getting one right away )

Yep I had one since Nov 22 but I wanted this one for a present, it's just really late, lol. They understand though and no it cannot be helped - but they still ask me about it daily. Im happy I still preorded one the same day I signed up for this offer. I think I will Preorder PS3 as well because who knows if I will get DQ'd when my form gets there. I know I did everything legit but if they check your ref's refs I really have no control over what people do with their own accounts.

roll

But if the question is wondering if freepay is "done for" the answer is no way. The moves they've made are going to do nothing but drive their profits up, which is what every company is looking for.

Is that going to burn some customers? Yeah. But freepay? They'll be fine.

The 360's have been delayed for over 3 months, is that correct? why do we have to finish their sites by 90 days if they cant even ship their product within 90 days?

i really hope they stick around long enough to send 360s and ps3s.

Maybe

We will see what free enterprise will do. I dont blame them for trying to make more money, thats the objective of a good business. But at the same time, if people realise that freepay now has too many loops to jump through and smaller competitor sites are easier, I could easily see a vast majority of current freepay users leaving the site.

The person with a cheaper, faster, better product always wins.

they will be going out of business -- this is just part of the master plan to get all the $$$ they can and close shop.

Signs
1. 90 days to give themselves time to tie up loose $$
2. "pending approval" bug -- freepay normally fixes bugs in a day or 2 -- been much longer
3. Not shipping at this time
4. not responding to tickets

Not that I believe that, but if so, Jake may only be informed on a "need-to-know" basis due to his being "contaminated" by interaction with us.

He may even be expendable. shock

LMAO -- Jake is a good guy -- I just think he is caught between a hardspot and a rock. Poor guy gets shot for being the messenger. people need to remember he does not make the policy.

That makes him the perfect scapegoat. Peter can say it was all his idea, and then Jake's death would end up tied to the "Russian mob".

It always ends like that. ;)

If you understood the complexity of the situation that resulted in this glitch, you would understand. At any rate, the solution will be presented very soon. I have seen the paperwork.

We are responding to tickets. We have just received a lot of them since the policy change and it is taking us longer to do so.

We are waiting for our next shipment (which is finally on its way). Once that arrives, we will fulfill the orders that we have.

The condoms....I don't use Durex. P

[quote0e6e821a36="Vector"]Do you think freepay is done for?[/quote0e6e821a36]

In my opinion, yes, this is the beginning of the end for FreePay.

The reason why they have a business at all is because it has actually worked for a lot of people. This has made it popular and popularity means more business and more revenues. When they take actions like making a blanket 90 day requirement and forced paperwork the result will only make their sites less popular.

When less people get their free stuff that means that less people will sign up in the future. Friends of those who have tried FreePay will ask, "Hey did you get your free iPod?" And many more people will now say, "No, they have some lame 90 day restriction and I couldn't finish in time." Then their friends will say, "I told you it was a scam."

Sure this move will likely maximize profits in the short term, but it will only lead to a long term decline in their revenues. As more people become disappointed with their results then that will lead to fewer and fewer people signing up and trying it out. Less customers equals less profits.

That's just my opinion and others may disagree. But I think that this move is the beginning of the end for FreePay.

If freepay goes under, i hope they do it in style like... they start freefreepay.com and sell the site who ever can refer the largest number of people in a year.

I think they might know better than us what is going to work for them.

I've always assumed that a ton of their revenue comes from online advertising, people signing up on the main site not under a referral, and doing an offer and forgetting about it or only referring a few people.

I don't think the rules will discourage these kind of people. The curious web browser with holes in his pocket.

In fact, it would be great if they made much more money off of this and then could afford to speed stuff up and maybe offer other options for prizes with some of the extra revenue.

The one thing that will hurt them is the loss of free advertising. More people using other sites because of the time limit will result in less free advertising on personal webpages, IM profiles and blogs. I think this is mainly where freepay will get hurt.

I got my giftcard promptly and i'm happy! (except I can't figure out where to redeem the supercert)

Although I can assure you i'd never pursue a freepay site now with more than 10 refs. That is really hard in 3 months unless you work your ass off with trades.

I can conclusively tell you that after waiting for my ipod for 5 weeks and counting (even though they are in stock EVERYWHERE), im never doing a freepay offer again. If my buddies ask, i'll tell them to go elsewhere too.

Once I finish the pc.freepay site (if I can within 90 days) - I am done with freepay. It was worth the trouble before - but now that we have to use snail mail - forget it. I haven't purchased a postage stamp in years!

Too many other freebie sites out there.
