Will Freepay learn from their 360 situation for PS3?

I'm about halfway through the process for ps3.freepay.com and am wondering if I should stop and go over to Trainn for the PS3 instead. Do you think FP will make sure that what is happening with their 360 order backlog compared to Trainn wont happen when the PS3 is released?

Just wondering what to do... ?

FreePay has no control over the supply that Microsoft is shipping out. You pretty much can't get a 360 anywhere, so how could FreePay?

You know that's not the truth. You just can't get 1000 360s anywhere. However, if you broke it into smaller shipments, a la Trainn, they can be acquired.

Yeah, I'd agree. I see them all the time at best buys and compusa.

I say do both if anything. Then you can sell one when the time comes.

What happens with the PS3 all really depends on how Sony treats the release. If they try and maintain scarcity of the units, then the situation will be exactly the same as it was with the X Box 360. However, if Sony decides that they want to ship more than 600,000 for the US upon release, we may not encounter this problem.

Oh okay. Let Jake know that FreePay should change their business model and processes. roll I don't know why they don't just send out their employees to scour the city, going from store to store, picking up an xbox360 here and there.

They should also hire people to do packaging and shipping from their office, instead of using warehouse distributors. They should change everything so people can get their stuff sooner.

The fact is, Trainn's filled all orders through November, so 360s aren't impossible to come by. Save the sarcasm. roll

Ask Alan exactly how many units that is and I'll tell you what fraction it is of the total orders that I have to fulfill.

We'll just have to disagree on the "all or none" policy. I guess I'll just sit back and have a glass of that Kool-Aid before I get banned for my dissent again.

I didn't ban you last time (if you did get banned, I knew nothing about it) and I won't be doing so this time.

Guys, lay off Jake, for god's sake.

He is here as a representative to help us out with problems, not to hear us bitch and moan about our 360s.

We aren't going to keep playing this game. 360's will ship when they ship. Simple enough. If you can't wait then have your parents buy you one you whiney brats.
