I am an 8/10 and I am "Sent to vendor/waiting on product." Ought I make the switch to an HP iPod at this point? Additionally, I am moving tomorrow. I can have it forwarded to me from my previous address, so that is not a big deal, but if I can change my address I'd like to.
So, what should I do? Because I'm probably not going to get shipped anytime soon; I've been STV/WOP for an entire month now. Maybe it'd be worth it to switch to the HP iPod?

There's really not a big difference b/w the two different model, it's just who makes the HD.
I think more peolpe are trying to switch to the HP now anyway, so my suggestion would be to stick with the model you have.
why? Id say go for it, they send you what is avalable first
