I've got 8/10 on freeminimacs. Do you think Freepay will handle it like the premium/photo ipod site where it's the same thing and your refs just get transferred over, or is it going to be a new site?

Here's the post in their news blog ("Mini Rumor Control")

I am in the same boat as you, hears to hoping that they just change over. I think they will becasue this is susposed to replace the mini mac from what I understand. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

I assume you guys are referring to this

It seems a bit more like a whole new concept though it is said to replace the mini in the article. I'm mainly looking to get the mini as a way to record quick music tracks so hopefully this new beast will do it just as well if they do decide to replace it, this is all of course assuming theyre approximately the same price.

So I'm resurrecting this topic because I've gotten all 10 greens that are required and have submitted for approval. Does anyone know if this will effectively lock me out of a new mini mac if they are ever released down the line? I'm not planning on placing the actual order until I get news one way or the other, but has anyone ever submitted for approval, but not actually ordered after being approved for a few months?

Thanks,
Rich

I was approved last week and decided to order yesterday. I was gonna wait for a new one to come out, but its not supposed to be for at least a few months so its not really worth it.

why not order now, and return it for store credit so u can buy it later. Usually apple does not increase the price when they release upgrades.

They didn't upgrade the minimac. Only the powerbook and the iMac. You're on your own on this one... it would probably be a wait until March-July sometime(my guess).

Ya I ordered mine a few days ago. I didn't want to wait for the new ones.

Anyone familiar with their exchange policy? Can I just walk in with a sealed box and ask for store credit? I wouldn't mind swapping up for an ipod or two )

Thanks,
Rich
