http//www.uglx.org/scam2 This was posted by a member of a forum that I frequent. I posted my referral link in it, he posted that link and now I have had no one to sign up under my referral link.

What would you say to someone who posts this link?

I would tell my friends to not be asshats, and to look at http//www.freeipodguide.com

Tons of proof here.

I pretty much agree with everything there. I wouldn't call it a SCAM, per se, but it is an accurate representation of how the business model works, they count on the people that don't complete the offers to make a profit.

Well, that and the ones that actually complete offers and they just don't ship. ;)

Conga lines still make them get fucked exactly like the picture represents except it takes longer and really makes the people at the top winners and not the bottom. The thing witht this is that so many ppl are ignorant to these offers existance and yell scam right away. Tell them 1 They are free offers you can cancel taking no money out of your picket like that ass lied.
2 I have gotten 4 refferals in 2 days It didn't seem that impossible but I need one more.
3. I'll suck your dick if you complete an offer.

Also tell them to get in quick. And give us the link so that we can fuck with their minds

Actually, I've gotten the most referrals by explaining the business model exactly like that article shows. Anyone with half a brain can figure it out anyways. I just add the following points afterwards

I tell them how this is exactly why the site ISN'T a scam. I explain that the pyramid model is so profitable that it woudn't make sense to scam anyone. By sending out an iPod and proving their legitimacy, the extra referrals that they would get would more than pay for the cost of the ipod. I explain that the only difference between a scam site and a real one is that after the first round of signups, the real one sends out a prize and gets hundreds more rounds of referrals, while the fake one pockets the money, only to be doomed to oblivion because of forums like this one. At the end of the day, when all of the referrals in the world are used up, the real site will have made a lot of money, and that "you" the person smart enough to get involved early and be at the top of the pyramid, will have an ipod.

I explain that only about 30% of the country is online at all and that as this number grows, there will be more referrals. More internet users will get credit cards over time, and more will learn to trust this site. So the pyramid is still just beginning, and if you stick to it long enough, you will eventually get your referrals.

Lastly, I emphasize the fact that there's simply nothing to be lost by trying this site. The merchants involved are as secure and reputable as any other company on the net, and that they risk a far greater chance of identity theft when they throw out their trash every week.

What an idiot

Funny how at the end he mentions how this might work if you're willing to do the following.......and then he lists 5 stipulations. Well, no shit, you're not getting it for free because you're putting yourself through those 5 things. If you really want a free Ipod you gotta do some work for it. No one's getting an Ipod for doing fuck all.

This dude's just mad cause he paid 100 billion dollars when Ipods came out so he could be the coolest. Now they're giving them away for free and he doesn't want anyone else to have one. Jerk.

that article was good at explaining how it works, but then the dude goes into all this discussion about stupid shit...OBVIOUSLY not everyone is going to get the free item becaues they might not know about conga lines or have enough friends...but even if 4,000 people got free stuff...that's still FREE stuff that got sent out.

Wow, I never expected to get this much response. Thanks guys. Here's the exact copied and pasted message, notes that I've added for just you guys are in bold

[i96317529ec]Being quite the desperate young man that I am. My gullible self
stumbled upon this free offer of iPods. The $300 20 gigabyte MP3
players which I cannot afford but which I so desperately want. I
thought it was a scam but a fellow pyro from another forum said he got
the free iPod mini from the website after some work he had to do in
order to get it. I am very close to getting mine.

This is how it works I sign up for the website. I complete one of
the "offers", such as a free blockbuster trial. There are other free
ones such as the inphone offer also. I also need to "refer" 5
friends, but they also have to do the offer in order for the company
to send me an ipod.

If you're interested, just take a look. It's well worth the work and
you COULD always sell it for $300 if you wanted to spend it on a ton
chemicals or tooling if you really wanted. But I assume you all like
music... [b96317529ec]This is an amateur pyrotechnics forum if any of you care[/b96317529ec]

Go here [b96317529ec]link removed out of fear of being banned[/b96317529ec] and sign up.

Just say "No" to the stupid survey questions. Once it asks you to
refer friends, click "skip step" at the bottom and go to the offers.
The best offer is the inPhone offer because it's the quickest and
doesn't cost a thing, but it's not always there on the website. The
second best of blockbuster. They'll send you free DVD's for two
weeks, then you cancel at the end of the two week trial, and they
don't charge you anything. My dad did that one.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK IT'S A SCAM

[b96317529ec]I looked through the gallery for pictures that had the word "scam" in it and I found those two. They should have ridden of skepticism, but I guess not...[/b96317529ec]

They've sent out about 4,000 ipods already... this is legit guys. [b96317529ec]That's what I heard from somewhere, it's probably more. Anyone know the true amount?[/b96317529ec]

Go here if you still think it's a scam and look at all of the
pictures, but use the first link above to sign up for freeipods

http//www.freeipodguide.com/images/gallery/[b96317529ec]I even gave him the entire gallery, but no. He still doesn't believe it.[/b96317529ec][/i96317529ec]

Bah, it's a google group. Go to Google, Groups, Rec., Page Two, Pyrotechnics or just go here http//groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&group=rec.pyrotechnics[]http//groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&group=rec.pyrotechnics

It's the "Totally Irrelevant to Pyro... But Interesting" thread.

All I know is that I'm eventually going to become very pissed off because I won't get my free iPod for a long time (if at all...) after I've done all of the requirements. How long have you been waiting Bry and others?
