I doubt it. I do wonder if someone with zero income (not even on unemployment) has to pay though. There are people I know on disability who might sign up if they didn't.

So that makes $600 become $90. Still, I remember them telling me they don't file taxes at all, so I don't know if this counts or not.

If have under like 7000/year, I don't believe you have to pay any taxes on your gift.
