What, if anything, would you recommend for connecting an iPod to home stereos.

You can get a wire that will plug into the headphone jack then split into the 2 RCA plugs that would normally go in the back of a stereo. Then go to AUX on your stereo and it should play music out of your Ipod. That's what I have with my computer to my stereo.

Yes, a link would be great. There's gotta be something on ebay. Unfortunately, I lack much stero experience.

Hope this link works. If not, just go to the Radio Shack website, then audio, then Y Adapters. They have a whole bunch of different ones here. Just make sure you get one that has a headphone jack on one end and RCA jacks on the other. If you get one that is just an adapter then you will need RCA cables to go along with it. The first one says it's for the Ipod, but I wouldn't go and spend $30 on it. I'm sure any of them there would work just fine. An MP3 file isn't high enough quality to warrant anything special.
Hope that helps.

Please don't spend $30 on a shitty cable that costs monster $1 to make. Please. For the children.

Edit

Here's a link to the kind of cable you need

And yes, that is the absolute most you should ever pay for one.

$.75! That's the way to go!

If you want better sound quality (theoretically) use some sort of line out for your rca plug, like the one coming off the ipod dock. Monster cables don't make a difference. Any old fat cable (fat cable => lower resistance) would do just as well.
