i have been out of the free stuff business for a while. i remember a while ago i had a program the let you manage all my notifications for multiple free accounts. can anyone tell me the name of a program i can run on my mac that does the same thing?

What do you mean notifications? I know on ratetheoffers.com it has a thing that reminds you of what offers you have left open.

like, a program you install on your comp and it notifies you when you have a referral join, or a referral go green. that way you don't have to log in everytime you want to check your account status. i remember back in the day i had podwatch on my PC

it sucks because i'm part of like 8 free site offers, and its annoying to log into each. very annoying.

I know what you mean. I am a part of like 8 or 9 as well but most of them I don't plan on trying to complete, they were part of trades and such. It would take forever to finish all those sites, the offers would run out. I guess you could always pay for the referrals which would probably take a while still.

that's due to Perl, which is the lang it's written in, being single threaded. just press refresh all and come back to it in a minute to look at results. beats checking sites manually...

Archon, Perl/Tk will run on a Mac. It would be cool if you could either release the source.... or, force Activestate to make PerlApp compile binaries for MacOS. ;)

hehe, the 1st may be possible later, but it complicated things a lot because you'd have to download extra libraries... the 2nd one... hehehe, complain to Activestate P

cyberpunk243

21-11-2005 09:30:48

lol. those double layer discs for burning costs a crap load though. The single layered ones aren't that bad but they don't hold a lot.

stiles05s

23-11-2005 15:13:28

4.7 gigs is plenty. popcorn shrinks the dvd for you. usually you'd have to look very very close to notice any loss in quality.

I can't wait till dual layered dvds are cheap. they're working on optical disk high definition DVD's that will hold up to 20 gigs. i can't wait.

I have/had plans for a webbased one. it was private (for me only) but i sent messaghes to the major sites seeing if it would be cool (since the checker would be logging in from my server's IP) so far Jake has replied saying its cool
