It'll probably be shipped out in segments and the earlier people finished, the earlier they get it. When do you think the first shipment will be, Jake?

That's pretty shady, but I think it's probably how it will end up happening. This whole time they claim "get your preorder in now so you can be playing it on november 22nd while none of your friends have it!", but they probably haven't even preordered them like they say.

You do realize that specific order #s are not reserved for a specific site, right? They don;t have any patterns to show just by looking at the number "yes, that's a 360 order, oh and that other one is a Nano one."
Anyway ) I don't recall Gratis making any claims that they preordered/are going to preorder the Xbox 360 - on both their new site, and the old one, I might have missed it but I doubt it )
We'll get it eventually....

Thats on the freepay site. They say its not too late to pre-order yours and to be ready for Nov 22nd, which most people would assume means they will ship them out around launch.....but technically they make no guarantee of this just to save their asses. I remember how i waited nearly 2 months to get my PSP from gratis so i'm not getting my hopes up for the 360 either. Hell i havent even been approved yet (waiting for approval for way over 10 business days)
I guess we'll just have to wait and see

That's ridiculous. It should be free. PC's have it free, why can't they do that for xbox 360? Microsoft is gay. Why don't they just let the game developers set up the multiplayer like for PC's? Mother fuckin werd. I mean PSP can do it wtf!? That's a step in the right direction. And plus not even having integreated wireless ROFL. They are just trying to charge us all hugely marked up products like 99$ for a wireless card. It gets worse everytime i hear something new about it. Plus the launch lineup blows ass. Many are current gen games with small graphic improvements. Plus, they ARE charging 59.99$ for games now, you think that extra 10$ could go to help pay for companies supplying their own multiplayer.

50$ a year is bad... I am not poor but over the life of the console, I don't wanna have to pay 400$ to play online which i could do on the PC for free (theoretically 400$ for console + 400$ for live over the lifetime + 50$ for AV cable for me + 50$ for play and charge kit + 30$ to get another controller + 60$ a game. This could really add up). I mean they made this thing sound all great when the first specs were released, then these minor details are ruining it. I hope PS3 doesn't make this mistake with multiplayer, which is one of the most promising things about current gen games.

The announcement from the website is the accurate version of events right now. We are going to have to wait until the beginning of December before we have any reliable information from our suppliers as to the shipping situation.

Anyone know if any stores will do a return without a receipt for an unopened 360? I want to exchange it so I have a receipt in case I need to use the warranty because of their hardware issues.

Actually YES!!!
Take it to Walmart. They will take back anything or exchange anything without a reciept. Unethical yes but whatever.
They do however blacklist you if you do this like 2-3 times in a year meaning you cant return any more merchandise without a reciept

pre order doesn't mean anything. A game crazy in town said they got in 10 xbox 360's that's it. They had 50+ preorders... just because you preorder something does not mean that you will for sure get it. It just means the first 50 sent to the store will be put on hold.

Why is this so hard for people to understand. They are slowing releasing them until Christmas to keep the hype and demand up. The systems aren't unfinished and the problem with the 360s isn't that widespread. Also, most people are finding out its not even the 360s that are causing the problem, its the power supplies. If you get them some decent airflow, they work fine...
