In hopes of receiving my ipod soon I started organizing all of my songs.....I aw my friends ipod and I know you go to an artist then an album etc to select a song. Now do I organize all of this through itunes or can you organize it in windows? Like right now I have all of my songs organized by type and artist in different windows folders.......will I have to reorganize these? Kind of a confusing question, get it? Thanks

Yep... caveman's got it right. I just spent about two hours last night renaming and categorizing songs in iTunes that I had in folders on my computer. I'm anal about artist names and song titles being capitalized as well as songs being classified by genre. Whatever you do in iTunes will show up on the iPod.

If you want to keep from having to do this most of the time, check out wwwdotallofmp3dotcom.

Tag&Rename is a good Windows utility program which allows for mass MP3 tag updates.

Hmm... I'll have to look into that.

another vote for Tag & Rename...makes mass updating tags a snap, plus it can connect to amazon (like iTunes) and get all your tags from there, assuming you have full albums...great app....

If your using iTunes just right click on the song and I believe you just go to Edit or Info or something its been a while since I've used it but just right click and it shouldn't be too hard to find. But manually renaming all your songs will take forever.
