Well, Gratis held true to their word, and I'm very impressed with this deal. Here's photos[=http//infinite-loop.org/thumbnails.php?album=28]Here's photos of my iPod, which arrived yesterday.

This shipping order really doesn't make sense, and I can't say that I agree with that. While I'm psyched to have received my iPod, I really think it should have been handled on a first-come, first-serve basis. I sympathize with any August STV's who're still waiting on theirs. All I can really say to those people is to have patience, a little faith, and enjoy your item when it eventually arrives!

Also, if you have any concerns about using iTrip, you really shouldn't. I tried it today for the first time...and was really quite impressed. The music that's broadcasting over FM radio in my car sounds like the same quality of music that originates from a CD. Very crisp, and all around easy to use.

I'd like to extend a HUGE thanks to Gratis, this website, and the community of users that help make this a legitimate deal.

Let there always be music...

Oh, and one thing I noticed...the actual capacity of a 20 GB iPod is really 18.5 GB. But don't get me wrong, this is still a tremendous amount of space...

Gratis depends on ecost for ipods because i think its cheaper for them to go through ecost rather than apple itself and also they file the order on account basis so if you got approved they file an order .. its not like they have 1000's of ipods on hand..

Disk space is NEVER gonna be what's advertised, 1 MB is not 1000 kb, but 1024 kb. If you do some math you get about 19.5 GB, the rest is taken away with format (about 1 GB).

My iPod said it only had like 18.6 GB free before I uploaded any songs.....

It's been a while since they've used ecost. Now they go straight through apple.

Exactly what joelseph said. eCost shipping delays are no longer a factor. Shipments are coming straight from Shanghi, China (with a few pit stops in between).

FYI

HD manufacturers use pseudo-gigabytes to denote disk space. Meaning 1GB = 1000MB.

In actuality, all data is binary, meaning either 0 or 1. 1GB is 2^10 MB, which is 1024.

Translation 1 real GB = 1024MB, 1 pseudo-GB (HD manufacturer) = 1000MB.
