ps it only goes to show you how in touch fip.com really is. a couple days ago when i had my back n forth with customer service, they told me mine was in a group with a shipping delay that wouldnt ship for over 1-2 weeks.

obviously mine was already shipped.
thanks for the canned message. middle finger.

My dad's thought process

"Trade in both, invest the money, and in 10 years you'll have 15x the amount!!! Then, depending on how old you'll be in 10 years, you can use that money to finance a car, or a vacation, or any number of things.

Plan ahead and save! The 4th Gen iPod (and any successors) will be replaced by the next best thing, which will be replaced by another best thing, etc, etc. Point being, your iPod will be out of style in a few years, but saving $$$ will [b323967d462]never[/b323967d462] go out of style!"

My thought process

"Is your sister hot?"

you surf the web with your dad?

1) do you both have a hand on the mouse?
2) are you from mississippi?

lol

1) I do not surf the web with my dad, although I do invest my money w/ him!
2) Sometimes, because he doesn't know how to use a computer well. In the example above, I just typed out what he would say. Those aren't actually his words, but I know him well enough that when I get my iPod(s) that's what he'll say.
3) No, I'm from Ohio. Live 15 min from LeBron!

i already drive a nice car. 3 series convertible. love it. and itll be out of style in 3 years, and ill have to move to the 2007-8 model. same deal.

i just came back from a twelve-month trip backpacking around the world. vacation time is nice. id spend my money on that before anything else. but hey, its time to chillax for a bit.

saving does go out of style. its nice to lvie life impulsively and enjoy it in the right now. who knows what tommorow brings.

cheers.

I couldn't agree more. It's just that impulsive living for me is more fun with $600 cash than two iPods. For me, getting $300 cash is always better than getting a product valued at $300.

Unless you can trade in the product for cash, having money gives you more flexibility. If worse comes to worse and you can't figure out what to do with the money, you can always go ahead and buy that $300 product.

This is one of the few things I was taught in economics that I actually understood!
