I saw few orders from Gratis Internet of the dimension 2400 on dell.com
Is gratis going to give this instead of the dim 3000?

I saw that as well. It looked like it was only 3-4 out of about 25. Not bad!
Unfortunately it looks like they didn't take advantage of the free upgrades.... again. That sucks!!!!

I think Gratis only upgraded the initial batch to CDRWs because the CDRW was listed as a spec in the initial specification pop-up.

Got Dell to give me my order number- I got a 3000 ) I think it sucks that we don't even get a CD burner, but whatever... free is free. Just means I have to shuffle parts around between the new computer and my other two!

Maybe these are orders Gratis is putting in for its employees or orders Gratis employees\founders are putting in for their families, et cetera so they get whatever discount from Dell. Gratis would have told us if they were shipping some Dell Dimension 2400's instead of Dimension 3000's.

My friend is the one on Hialeah and he got a 2400 today. That's not fair, some people getting a 3000 and others like my friend getting the crap of Celeron, not that he's complaining but he's really pissed up. Do you guys think that Gratis will change it for a 3000 if he contacted them?

Although it is pretty lame that they would downgrade the comp, I don't see why a person would be angry for getting a free computer. just sell it and get the cash.
