Just wondering if anyone has any idea when freepay will be into the new mini macs. I read the other post before anyone tells me that this has already been asked.

Just looking for an update. Jake?

i got this today when i tried to redeem. i could go with the current mini but the newer one will go for so much more money on ebay ($50-75) so i am going to wait. who knows how long this message has been up though.

"Note Unfortunately the new Mac mini is not yet available. For quickest receipt of your free Mac mini, please select the Mac mini from the drop-down box now and we will immediately ship you the Mac mini that we currently have in stock. Or if you’d rather wait to receive the new Mac mini, please check back in 6-8 weeks to submit your order."

The problem is, if everyone waits for the new one, they won't run out of the old ones and won't get the new ones in.

I'd say you should just go for it, it's still a great cpu and a free one at that.

But I mean, is the old minimac bad?

And if you're just selling it on ebay either, 50-75 dollars in exchange of months waiting time (6-8 weeks, pfft if yall wait its gonna be longer than that.)

yea but that 50-75 will cover the ebay and paypal fees.

Are the new mini macs the (1.42GHz)80G or the (1.25GHz)40G?
the 80G new ones cost $600. That is $50 more than i think the old ones went for.

Does any one know which one will be the one freepay ships????

They ship the 1.42GHz w/ the 80gb HD...the 600 dollar one (or at least it was 600 before they started selling a better version of it) All you have to do is mouse over for the specs ;)

The new ones have Tiger but you can download that anywhere. That's the main advantage.

And, there's a memory of 512MB I think instead of the weak 256MB. That is pretty easy to upgrade as well.

I think the new Mac Minis don't have a modem.

So, just download tiger, buy 1GB stick for $50, stick it in the mac mini and you have better than the new mac mini.
