Well getting to the Shipped stage usually takes much longer because Apple won't ship out any orders until they receive enough orders to do so. Theres no way they can just get 1 order and ship it out right away since that would cost them way too much. And I'm almost sure that Gratis purchasing the iPods in bulk so must wait a while before ordering, anyhoo, even if you get it before Xmas you should be happy.

Heh ... I went STV the same day I ordered my ipod. It worked out pretty well for me, my account was approved, I ordered, processed, and STV all in the same day (10/13).

MINE got STV today! Yay! 8)
Anyways, Yes apple gets tons of orders everyday (I highly highly highly doubt apple waits to get orders in bulk from freeipods, since I read a couple threads where shipments were held back of 20GB and 40GB ipods in the same load), so that is certainly not the issue.
So I think we'll receive it within 1 or 2 weeks. (This is just an educated guess, and I'm only hoping that it will be true)

Hey, this is my first post here. I've been browsing this forum for the past two days since my order started processing. STV today like everyone else here!
Since I've been browsing I've been trying to figure out any consistencies and patterns to be found in this whole thing.
I guess they just send all currently processing orders to the vendor in bulk, like they did today, and seemed to have done on the 13th of Oct and on select days before that. From what I've been reading though, it doesn't seem like the iPods are shipped out in groups or in bulk at that same consistency. Maybe I'm wrong though?
I wasn't aware that things took quite this long until I looked at this site right after my order started being processed. I'd heard of shortages with the iPod minis but not with the regular ones. I was sort of hoping and planning on having the thing before I went out of state this Thanksgiving but that might not happen. Oh well, hopefully things are speeding up.

So has anybody noticed any trends related to this, like how many STV dates were included in the last ship date? If it's been a while since any new STV dates have been shipped, then we can assume that ours will ship pretty quickly if this theory is correct because it would mean that Apple should have a full shipping container just about ready to go.

Really, somebody needs to make a chart to show how peoples' time from STV to shipment has fluctuated since this all started. ;)
Like I said in my previous post, I've been looking over these boards for the past two days and I'm still trying to obtain a good grasp of how long these things take. Is it at least safe to say that the over the past two months more recent STVs have been taking closer to a month to ship than the ones before (like the August people I'm hearing about still waiting for theirs...)?
I so wish I had the will-power to just sit back and let it arrive when it will. I used to be addicted to checking if I had any more referrals/offers completed under me, but now I can't stop checking this board so I'll have some idea as to how long I'll be waiting for it to arrive. At least with this obsession I'm in good company.

I would definitely be interested in making some kind of visual chart, the only problem is its nearly impossible to gather all the information, there needs to be one threed with only Timetable replies allowed in it in a specified pretext, then perhaps a visual graph/timetable could be possible...

How about make a thread with a poll. Each poll option can be a STV date and if you've shipped/received your ipod, you vote for your STV date. I actually think that would be the easiest way to get together "everyone's" data.
If possible, maybe a mod can lock the thread and make it a sticky so that it's ONLY a poll.
(I would do it, but I'm lazy and I'd have to gather all of the STV dates since August...)

That's not a bad idea actually... but you would need 3 different polls i think
First Poll
Order Placed/Processing Date
Second Poll
STV Date
Third Poll
Shipped Date
but actually that would just show you how many people are in what stages, which is perhaps, usueless, what you really want is to be able to follow each person's timetable and then you would be able to get an overall general view of how long it will take to go from processing to received, ya know? therefore I dont think a poll would be the best bet...

I don't know. I think what's most important is the STV dates since people process and order at different times. For example, I was had my 5 referrals completed, approved & ordered on the 20th, then STV on the 22nd. Some people did this on the 15th, the 18th, etc. then stv on the 22nd.
Then again, I'm under the assumption that they STV in large groups and once a certain number of people are processing, they STV them. Such as if they STV'd a group on the 13th, then someone processes on the 14th, I would assume they STV in the next big bunch(which would be the 22nd, right?).

i dunno if this means much. probably not. i called the ipod store and asked what their time before shipping out orders (not just fip, but in general) was for 20 GB pods. they said 1-3 days then it will ship. i asked if they get theirs from shanghai, they said yes. so in a perfect world, ours would ship in that amount of time too, as soon as they receive our orders.

some 8 people haven't shipped yet. Same with some 9/27's and 10/5's. Muahahah. As I said, Gratis unpredictably ships whenever they want to. I tried calling em. But I got this automated answering machine. The only way to talk to an actual person at Gratis is if you are an affiliate and have an affiliate #.
