I flagged the guy down today, and he informed me that it would be a home delivery van anyway. I'm just going to leave a note saying to leave the shipment w/ last four tracking digits of "xxxx" so they know that I'm serious about it. He did say that, if a note is left, they'll do as instructed.

you don't need to incl. the last 4 numbers. Just say to leave the package and they will.

leave a polite note, dont need any tracking numbers (i wouldnt use them)
and sign your name.
they dont care about the details.
if they see the note they wont even knock.
my fedex/ups/usps note stays on my door all the time because of my work schedual and even if im home, they dont bother knocking. they just leave it at the door. ;)

they left mine at the front door today...without any note.. kinda risky but it worked out.
