The PC has 2 slots. You have a choice of putting in two matching sticks at all times to enable dual channel memory (which will give you better performance on applications that need more memory bandwidth) or using the system in single channel by not having matched memory sticks. Either way I believe this system will support up to 2GB of RAM (1GB stick in each slot). By default it has 256MB of RAM in one slot, running in single channel mode. If you add an identical 256MB stick it will bring you to 512 and enable dual channel memory. However, you could add 1GB or RAM in the second slot bringing you to a total of 1,256MB of RAM but running in single channel. So, you have quite a few options and it really depends on how you want to use the system. My personal preference would be to sell the included 256MB stick and by two matched 512MB sticks for a total of 1GB running in dual channel - but that's the sort of user I am (1GB being a mimimum for my needs). If you're just browsing the web, emailing, word apps, etc - you'll be fine just slapping a 512MB stick in there for a total of 768MB in single channel.

In terms of "type" of RAM, your system came with a stick of 256MB PC3200 DDR RAM (184 pin) - although your computer is only running at 533MHz FSB so the RAM itself is running as PC2700 speeds (DDR 333MHz). So, you'll want PC3200 or PC2700 RAM moving forward (probably best to stick with PC3200 - there isn't really a price difference - and if you ever decide to upgrade to a hyperthreaded 800MHz P4 you'll be all set).

www.crucial.com lets you find your exact specifications for memory. Then, you can browse the web to find the cheapest price, or buy it right from Crucial.

Can this MOBO support a P4 HT 3.0Gz CPU?

yes, it can support a P4 HT running at 800MHz FSB (so 2.8 - 3.6).

Is there any way to upgrade the video cards on these things? Are there decent options that aren't AGP. I was about to pop in a new card and realized there wasn't an AGP port. That was pretty disappointing, to say the least.

You can use a PCI graphic cards... its not the best choice as AGP tho, but at least you can
