i only got one referral for this site, a few days ago, he signed up and was yellow for a while, now log in an see him green and the above message. What do they mean by "not unique users"? they think that's me doing the site twice?
if they keep IP logs they can see that we've been online at the same time and he's in a different state... so i can't be superman and fly within seconds! what's up gratis? any suggestions?

maybe the person who you referreed had already signed up, or someone has already signed up from the IP that he used, or maybe he has created several accounts since signing up.

usually its something along those lines.

I would sure like to know why then? Something must have happened that I don't know about. If it is becasue I logged into my gratis accounts to check my status when I was at their house, that is bullshit. Nowhere in the tos did it say I cannot log into my account at someone elses house. That is all I can think of, otherwise they must have me mixed up with someone else.

Another question I have is... am I allowed to continue with the other sites or will they all be put on hold too?

i did that for OC and they put me oh hold. after i explained that i only logged in to make sure the referral counted, they let me off hold..

Don't be surprised if they are willing to take you off of hold, but also make that referral not count.

Something similar happened to me and while at first I was rather furious, after a few days of thinking about it I decided that if I were Gratis I would have probably done the same thing because it really does look like a walk-through....even if your intentions were completely innocent.

you see it really can't (or at least shouldn't) be any of those things coz the guy that did the ref is completely NEW to this whole freebie thing... so the only thing he could've done is accidently create two accounts, but he signed up for my account with the same email addy which we've used to talk to each other... and i doubt he uses any other email so there shouldn't be any HOLD on my account. the only thing why i'd say Gratis did it is coz he MIGHT HAVE completed the same offer as i did on that site and maybe Gratis doesn't like when we complete same offers, but i DON'T know if he did or not, in fact i think we did a different offer so it's completely LEGIT cry

Wow, is there something you're not telling us? I also haven't heard of an account going on hold after STV, this sounds pretty extreme.

I have about 6 accounts of people signed up under me that are on hold, but I am not on hold, which makes me believe that as long as you follow the rules you won't be punished. I have checked my status from different IP addresses because I'm bouncing back between my apartment in Iowa and my house in the Chicago-land area and haven't had any problems.

I hope you get everything striaghtened out, hopefully it was a mistake or a misunderstanding. Good luck man.

Same here...I check my status from people's houses who also have accounts (and have been referrals for me). Never had a problem. It's not cheating if you just use a computer to check your status...just don't do anything else!

That is pretty much what I did (I logged in to get my referral link so he could do it), and was put on hold. If I were you I would get an extra referral.

I would know how you feel. I would be so pissed. I put so much time and effort getting my signups its not even funny. I made a .comurl==http://=http:///url website, expained the free ipod thing to everyone on my IM (thats like 100), called a bunch of friends, advertised my .comurl==http://=http:///url website on other sites, and paid good2green $40 to complete a sign up for me (which is still pending).

It is against the Terms and Conditions to help a user join or "walk" them through the registration process. There are strong signs this is the case here. I see you were logged into the referrers account right before registering this account. A user may not "walk" a referral through the creation of an account or any subsequent campaign activity on our referral based sites. If a user is found to have "walked" a referral through the signup and/or offer process, all involved parties will have their accounts placed on hold.

... I am smart enough NOT to log into someones account to register them, that's like a HUGE NO-NO in the freebie world. So... did they somehow mess up in checking our accounts and IP addies? how could they come to the conclusion that we were using the same IP addies? I'm not a computer tech so I'm not totally sure how IP-generating works, but could it be that we're both behind a router that gives out the same IP address???

ok, so i explained to them why i was online at the same time as the kid who signed up under me, i told them that i was running a Counter-Strike server and was playing with my friends, and occasionally minimized it to refresh and see if my ref signed up, which is all true, and the still told me to fuck off...

well, just got a reply from them...

From what physical place did you sign up at the first time on our site? Was undlilili@yahoo.com with you at that time? Our database indicates that you were logged into undlilili@yahoo.com's account right before you created your own account on this site. This means that there had been assistance in registering the account, which is a strong sign of a walk-through. Your account still remains on hold. Thank you for contacting us.

... that's the email of 'halfbreed', user who i signed up under, so if they're saying he walked me thru then shouldn't HIS account be on HOLD as well? he never told me he was on hold... and I refuned the $25 bucks he paid me to do it.
