so i want to get the ipod+hp, but next to the selection it says (if available). does this mean that if i select that and they don't have it that i wont get an ipod? or rather something random or nothing at all?

Gratis states in their terms of service that they are allowed to switch the free prizes around according to supply in demand.

So, you might order and HP and get an Apple. Or you might order an Apple and get an HP. It looks to me like the majority of people get what they asked for.

The good news is that the HP and the Apple models are identical (hardware-wise).

Check the HP vs Apple iPod sticky.
