I don't know, really. I understand they are ordering direct from Dell.com. The thing that [potentially] sucks is that if they order from Dell.com, last week they could have got free upgrades from 256MB RAM to 512MB on all their orders! When I went to look at their delivery ETA on Dell.com, it was Sept 15th last week, so maybe that's what the holdup is. Lord knows, and I'm too patient to speculate. It'll get here when it gets here, I guess. I alrady got my Sony WEGA, so I'm not gonna complain.
The FDPC specs "switch" bugged the hell out of me, though -- the downshift from the P4 to a lowly 2.4Ghz Celeron [the lowest of the group, in fact], and no CD/RW. I really hope those are just the "minimum" as they say and not the general rule. Granted, it's free, but I probably wouldn't have wasted my time doing it if I'd known. I guess it'll make a decent doorstop while I sell off the monitor. twisted
In any case, it's something for relatively nothing [except some AdWords advertising in my case], so hey, no biggie in the end. What use I'll get out of it I don't know yet, but hey, it's FREE.

Between all three programs (FIP, FFS, FDPC), upwards of $75. Now that the competition has heated up considerably with a ton of people advertising through them, it'd probably cost twice that to get enough exposure that people would bother clicking them.
Problem is, too many people choked the system and I get emails daily from people I've helped telling me they can't even get impressions, much less clickthroughs. Your mileage may vary, but be sure you can afford it beforehand -- you can't control how much you spend as closely as it might seem. D

I'm 9/10 on FPC. Started a conga for people to use to get my referrals... am already sick of people bitching about how they should be up higher, and so on. Tempted just to tell them to F off and try doing it themselves if they think they can do a better job...

My FDPC conga is the last I'm ever doing. Too much complacency when I tell everyone that congas aren't to be relied on for EVERY referral, just a couple here or there that you may not get otherwise. I think people forgot the definition of "work" when it comes to getting these offers. evil
Hell, I even took myself out of my congas way early so nobody would accuse me of being "greedy", and what happens a week later? People accuse me of being "greedy" and cheating people to get my own refs. I've drawn the line and well, it's just not worth my time. I'm not gonna shut down the ones that exist, but I sure as hell am not going to work on new ones, either.
[FYI, I spent about $75 in advertising to get my refs, along with message board linking -- small price to pay for three items with an MSRP of $1,438.31 with shipping included.]

To a degree that's probably true. I actually try and do the best I can, but certainly I've benefited from being a moderator (I didn't start the conga I'm a part of, nor was I one of the first 20 to sign up initially, but I've consistently worked hard for it and tried to help people). However, I disagree that its solely a means for getting the mods referrals, our conga has gotten many folks their referrals for ipods, flatscreens, and desktops. But it is nearing its end in that its just too big now, there's really no reason to signup now since you have zero hope of getting your referrals from it. Some people do still signup though, whether its through ignorance or just as a thank you for the amount of information we lend. I like to think the latter... but its more likely the former.

I currently have 7 out of 10 required complete referrals for FDPC. I am annoyed though that they have downgraded the Dell system. I seriously don't think that a dimension 2400 is worth 10 referrals, monitor or not! I should have all of my referral before the end of the week, and I am considering not ordering my PC yet. Do you guys think that they may upgrade the systems they are offering anytime soon?

Well, I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully you will get a Dell 3000 not a 2400. I'm still waiting on my last 3 referrals, although I'm beginning to suspect that there may be something wrong. I had been getting about 1 green for every 13 yellows on average. But in the last few days, I haven't had any greens? I have now gotten 68 yellows in a row with no greens. Has anyone else noticed this?
