STV date changed?

i submitted my order to be processed on 9/24 and i was STV on 9/27
under "order history" it says 9/24 STV, when u click on the order number (the page that displays your address) it says 9/27 and i've noticed it's always been like this.
today i checked it and on that page and now it says 10/6 STV
any idea what that means? thanks in advance.

maybe ( and there is another topic just like this so this is a response for him too) maybe they are just grouping everybody together, everybody STV from 9/1 to 9/24 will all be be called STV 9/24 and will all be shipped together, anybody STV from 9/25 to whenever will be in the next group (say 10/6), and so on...
this is just a guess though? anybody know?

i'm a 9/15 and have been unchanged since then, so i don't think you can explain the person who went from 9/1 to 9/24 by the grouping theory. very weird, though.

ehh grouping seems right to me then? and maybe all of september is one gigantic group lol, that would be a lot of ipods though, they could also group by what you ordered, which could explain 9/15 going to 10/6... maybe he ordered something different?
i dunno, they are all either switching to 9/26 (or wahtever), and 10/6... so grouping seems like its a possibility
Yep "9/20/2004 62600 PM Sent to Vendor, Waiting on Product", but on the order page i get "Date/Time 10/6/2004 33500 PM".
My best hope is that maybe the changed the order or something so now it has actually been sent to the vender (apple?), and is in progress of moving. That is optomistic of course. Anybody around shipped recently that can look on their order page to see the Date/Time, whehter or not it changed to around when your got shipped?
Or possibly it has to do with all the problems the site seems to be having today.

Ok, so it sounds like something is up.
Just to get everybody's bearing straight, the "Status" page is the overall status (by hitting, well, duh..."Check Status"), while the "Order" page is the "Order Detail" page that's displayed after clicking the order number on the "Status" page.
That being said, my status page says...
8/27/2004 311PM Sent to Vendor, Waiting on Product
...while my Order Detail says...
9/24/2004 111200AM Sent to Vendor, Waiting on Product
The "Status" STV date has never changed. However, the "Order Status" did change from 9/1 to it's current date....on the 24th.
My SWAG My order was originally with vendor A, then changed to vendor B. The "order detail" page is linked to Gratis' ordering system, while the "Status" page is a date just kept for history.
Ok, that's my complete guess. Other ideas?

Those of you who have an original STV date in September whose STV did not change to 10/6, did you order an Apple iPod or HP iPod.
I ordered an HP iPod and was STV on 9/27 but changed to 10/6. Does that seem to be the difference if you were changed?

I ordered an HPod on 9/13. Order status still says 9/15/2004 24800 PM. It looks like anyone that got in on the 9/15 order stay there and everyone else got reordered on 10/6 (probably from a different vendor). It doesnt look like item ordered has any impact on the switch.

Check your detailed order page. The little one still shows my order date (9/17) but the more detailed page shows 10/6 now (used to show 9/27)

i'm a 9/9 ip3 9/15 switch to hp. my dates are still the same. i'll agree with whoever said it a couple posts back. seems like 9/16 and on all got switched to 10/6 which is maybe a sign that they switched you guys to a new vendor. the interesting thing will now be to see if the 10/6 switches get their before the 9/15's (possible 10/6 to apple, 9/15 and before still with ecost)

Ithnk this is a good thng. Maybe they placed a huge order with someone and everyone with 10/6 will be gettting theres soon, they said they were close to same week shipping.
They might be tryin to keep up on there orders so they dont fall even farther behind and when they get to a point of equilibrium, then thell get any they missed liCoUGHli liCoUGHli 8/6 and otherz.

It would kind of suck if 9/15s and earlier get their ipods later than all the 9/16+ people. But that would mean that we might be getting an hPod(although i HIGHLY doubt it), but who knows. There has to be some kind of explanation for this strange IP3 date switch.

based on this and other rumblings, it really does sound like there is a large shipment on the way. hopefully my static STV date doesn't mean i get left behind. haha.

At least there's some kind of uniformity going on now. When 10/6s start getting their Hpods, then I'll know that mine is coming soon. I went STV on 8/12. My date did not change...
Seems like only people in sept had their order date change. Maybe they did another batch through china today and it means your in that one...
I have a feeling that the old ones, like me have an order thats already been placed (through ecost) that for some reason can not be cancelled. So we will have to wait for ecost to fulfil them. Meanwhile i think all future ones will go through china. Thus meeting Rob Jewell's "ship the same week" plan.
This is just my theory, not neccasarily what is really happening...

I emailed gratis couple weeks ago. This is simply a display issue and means your order has been moved to a different folder. It will NOT affect your shipping time.

I was an 8/26 order w/ 9/1 STV and a 9/22 HP switch. I changed from 9/1 to 9/24 on the 24th, and haven't changed since. For all you folks thinking this 10/6 thing means you're about to ship, all I can say is "heh- you wish." The 9/24 batch hasn't even shipped yet. You've got a while to wait, whether you are in one big clump or not.

The status of my order remains the same but like most of you, the date changed from whichever it was before (in my case, 9/27) to 10/6. I have lost hope that my ipod will be shipped soon because of this thread. (

It sounds like you and I are in exactly the same boat. So, according to what somebody said Gratis told them, we're simply "in a different folder," while our 9/1 date stays the same. Only time will tell, I guess.
I like it how everybody's trying to reverse engineer what's up at Gratis. I'm sure they're lurking here...it should give them a bit of entertainment.

I don't think having your STV date is anything to worry about. If you take what the date "literally" means is that this is the date Gratis placed your order with the Vendor. The way I interpret this is that Gratis had placed your orders with another company (I assume eCost or something) and then realized later that another supplier/vendor opened up that would fulfill the order more quickly. So, they cancelled your initial order (the earlier STV) since it would have taken longer to receive anyway, and placed a new order on 10/6 (most likely with Apple).
This is of course speculation. However, the whole "different folder" thing is frankly odd. This is a database that contains all the orders and the order information. I think by different folder they actually mean a different vendor and therefore a different order (which should arrive to you quicker than the "earlier" one).

Hey, I e-mailed Gratis and this is the message they replied with. By the way I am one of the people who went STV 9/27 to 10/06...
"there may have been a glitch in the system. Your order is currently being processed by the vendor. We have established various new vendor relationships so that we can get iPods out faster. You should be receiving your iPod in the next 2 weeks! We really appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience."

But I can switch now to get a WEGA TV, and that doesn`t mean that after I order, my "switch" date will be 10/7) We can switch as many times as we want until we place the order, and AFTER that we can only switch to the hPod - you click a little button on your order details page, saying "Click here to " whatever, I forgot it already. But that's what people mean by switching - first ordering an iPod, going through processing, and THEN switching to hPod, without cancelling the whole order. These are two different things.
