I went ip3 on 8/12 and did not switch. I found a tracking number for an iPod coming to my city that wasn't mine, and it was delivered and claimed today. Based on all the posts, it seems that [b29d4a26652]those who went ip3 around my time but switched [/b29d4a26652]are getting their Apple iPods first.
Is there anyone that received their Apple iPod around now [b29d4a26652]that didn't switch[/b29d4a26652]? I'm hoping someone out there can disprove my speculation, because this is getting bad...

a friend of mine who started and completed everything in sync with me (ordered 8/11), had his shipped at the same time as i did (10/1). i did switch, but he didn't. we're both getting the apple.

I disproved my own speculation. I finally got the guts to call up Fedex and ask about shipments coming to my address. Though they couldn't give me a tracking number, they said it is indeed a package from Apple originating from Shanghai! D

no, the ship by reference thing was a bit hokey. there were at least 2 iPods shipped to my city that weren't mine, and none of them showed up that way. If you're really curious, I'd recommend you just call Fedex and tell them you ordered a package and didn't receive a tracking number and would like to see all packages coming to your address. They won't give the tracking number, but they can tell you all the other info (they told me it was on a plane, came from Apple, and is scheduled to arrive Oct. 20, which we all know isn't really true)
