Sony WEGA - Email from gratis

My TV went to Shipped status on 9/30.

I just received an email from gratis with the following content

FreeFlatScreens Customer,

In order for Sony to be able to deliver your television, they need a phone number to reach you at in order to schedule a delivery time with you. Please reply to this email and we will provide them with this updated information. Sony is using a new shipping company called NVC that handles home deliveries to insure that your television arrives without issue.

Again, please respond with a phone number that you can be reached at in order to schedule the delivery of your television as soon as possible. Not having this information will cause delay in receiving your television. Once Sony has this information you should be contacted within a few days to schedule the delivery.

im in ny, manhattan. Shipping is done by a company called NVC instead of UPS or Fedex

For you guys that have gotten this e-mail Did you enter in your phone number when you submitted the order? I know it had a phone # field when I submitted my order. Just curious.

No the phone number field was inserted for this purpose.. wink

When someone gets theirs, let us know if its the newer 27" WEGA (FS320) or the older (FS120).

just got another call for final confirmation for the time frame for delivery tomorrow. I'll be sure to take some pictures and let u guys know the model i received

what's the difference and where do you look to tell which one you got. I have one in my basement that I got from Gratis about a month ago.

still though, what's the difference?

The biggest difference is that the newer one has an extra Component input for a total of two. There are some other changes as well (including cosmetic), but for the most part I liked the addition of the second component input - so you can have your DVD and XBOX (or other higher def source) feeding to the TV with component and not need to switch out the cables, etc. Certainly there are receivers that have component switching, and of course things are going to start going the way of HDMI, but its still nice to have as much as you can right now...

BTW, if you haven't received a call from NVC yet, you might want to call them 800-526-0207, option 7.

I sent an email to Gratis with my phone #, and they never relayed the information. My TV has been sitting at the local terminal for over a week. I called and setup delivery for tomorrow.

I shipped on 9/30 and am in AZ.

my status was changed to shipped, the day AFTER i called. and they still haven't called back to shadily a delivery date

Received my Sony TV on Saturday!!! They hooked it up as promised, however, I requested to keep the box.
