ah ok. well yeah, the correct answer would be 18 hour battery, and it comes with 4 or 6GB.

the thing i dont get is why someone would want to get a mini when they could get a 20gb one for the same refs. you could just trade in the 20gb, if they really wanted a mini, and get a mini and have extra cash.

I know what you mean. I suppose some people may enjoy the small size of the mini...? Sounds like a bunch of crap to me lol. Anyway, I'm going for the 20gb myself.

I've owned the 20gig and my gf owns the mini. I prefer the mini because it has a smaller design and is less scratchable. If I was doing freeipods I would choose the mini for those reasons. You don't have to deal with the hastle of trading the ipod in at a store either.

thats all good assuming you only have 4-6 gigs of music.

my main use for the 20 gig ipod is transferring dvd iso's to friends houses..

o yea, how do you put files other than music onto an ipod, basically using as a portable harddrive?

you hafto put it in disk mode and then it appears as another HD in "My Computer" but when you put it in disk mode, you hafto "eject" the ipod before you unplug it.

don't you have to eject it before unplugging even if you don't use it in disk mode

i read in the manual that if you put it in this mode, you hafto manually eject the ipod.

under normal circumstances, i believe itunes opens when the ipod is plugged in (and that warning msg appears on ipod) and then when you close itunes, the ipod is automatically ejected(when ipod screen goes back to normal)

basicly means that when the ipod is in disk mode, the warning screen will stay on the ipod screen until you right click its drive letter and goto eject. this is how you can use it as a portable hard drive, whereas if you tried to transfer your files onto a computer that doesnt have itunes, youd be SOL.
