For all of you who think theyre getting an engraved Ipod.....ever consider the engraving MIGHT be the HP logo?

No, because HP iPods have a totally different model number (PE435A). An engraved Apple iPod carries the model numer P9282LL/A, while a regular model carries the M9282LL/A model number.
On top of that, the HP and Apple logos are either acid etched or painted on (I can' remember which), not laser engraved. The serial numbers ARE laser engraved onto the back, however.

Engraving is shitty anyhow...if you get an engraved iPod and you have to get it replaced under warranty you can't get a new one - they'll always refurbish the one you have.

That's not what I read. I read that if you have to get a replacement iPod, that they will engrave it like your previous one. It was on the Apple Ippod support site.

What mapStuart said. It just takes longer to "repair." You would have to wait an extra week or so for personalized iPod warranty repair.

^ i know what an ipod engraving is... you don't have to explain to me..
i'ma only asking because theres engraving and freeipod.com did not ask us what to engrave so i'd like to know what they put..
WHICH i later found out they engraved freeipods.com on the freaken ipod =( o wells i just suck it up
