i did the efax offer on 3/31 and got credit for it the next day
now I'm going for approval
the little pop-up message that tells you the instructions said nothing about having to stay on after the 30 day trail and pay
now, it requires you to stay on after the trail and pay
did anyone else do it on 3/31, do you remember what the message say
i thought it was free and didn't really read it
help!!

Stamps.com is doing the same thing. From their homepage

"If you’re coming from a site that offered a bonus or gift please note to qualify you must stay on past the 4 week trial."

wow, i'm glad that i already finished those offers.

Crap, the same may be true for NetFlix on OC sites.

stamps.com
"Qualify for the prize when you stay on past the 4 week trial.
You will be credited within 5 business days"

what if you don't want a prize from the site you signed up for stamps.com through? will the person you signed up under still get credit since you get credited w/ in 5 days? it would make more sense to get credit once you start your non-free trial. eh.

Where exactly is this on the stamps.com homepage? I couldn't find it, but maybe I didn't look hard enough.

It's right there in red, just above the navigation bar at the bottom of the page.

Ah okay I see it now, you have to use the offer link from a free site to see it.

I didn't, I typed stamps.com straight into the address bar and still see it. Of course that could be due to a cookie that got dropped at some time before when I DID go there from an offer site...

Thanks for the info, I'll stay away from that one.

as a result, they've just taken those offers off of their list, or at least from freephotoipods and freeipods.

so does this mean that you won't be credited until after the 30 day trial is up so they can make sure that you completed the offer?

dmorris68

I have no idea, I've not tried either offer (and won't be). But how else would they enforce it? Unless they can do a chargeback to Gratis for the referral fee, they would probably have to withhold credit until then.

The Gratis popup thingie says,
"Try eFax's Free 30-Day trial. Valid credit card required. You must stay on past the 30 day trial and become a paying subscriber. If you cancel during the trial, your credit will be removed."

Your credit will be removed?

Probably eFax has a 99.99% cancel before rate for all signups for free sites. And, how can someone do eFax 4 times?

I did eFax once and never even got credit for it.

This has been on there since at least 3/22 - when I signed up for a trial for PDATech4free. I haven't gotten credit yet.

I didn't pay much attention to it, with the assumption that I wasn't offered a bonus or gift from PDATech4free, just a credit - maybe I was a little too cavalier in that assumption.

Why would you say that? There's nothing like that disclaimer on the Netflix sign-up page.

that's what i was hoping they meant. i know one site w/ the stamps.com offer states that you will get credit in 5 days for the offer which is rather misleading.

rockdoctor

that's a real bummer, considering I too did stamps.com and efax.com each over three times, and had all my refs do them. oh well.

Is the NetFlix 2 week free trial actually free? as many dvds as you want for 2 weeks? thats probaly only 6 dvds because of the 3 at a time rule, but still interested...

i don't think there's a limit to the # of dvds you can rent during the 2 week trial. netflix shipping is really fast so you could probably rent more than 6 dvds if you rent 3 at a time all the time and watched & send them back really quickly.

Supposedly, yes. At least that what somebody posted as eFax.com's policy, and since stamps.com is making the same disclaimer I would assume so.

i regret never doing stamps.com ? comp, are you saying you've done the blockbuster offer more than once?

hey what do you guys think

1) I did [bcf1c10fe0c]Efax.com[/bcf1c10fe0c] for PDATech4Free on March 15. I still
haven't received credit. I am still signed up. Do you think I am
affected by this new policy or I'm simply just not getting credit
for another mysterious reason.

2) ditto question for [bcf1c10fe0c]Stamps.com[/bcf1c10fe0c]....I signed up for Stamps.com
on March 15 for FreeDesktopPC. I haven't received credit for that either.
I am still signed up. You think I should abandon
the idea of getting credit or wait it out?

Personally, I don't want to shell out more money when I'm
already skeptical if I'm getting credit for these two offers.
I didn't know anything about a new policy until last night.

let me know your thoughts.

best. 8)

check their tos. maybe they have a clause saying they reserve the right to alter tos during your membership and have it apply immediately. sorry it wasn't too helpful. maybe you'll find your answer there, though.

xavier

07-04-2005 16:23:02

Well it has never taken me over a month to get my refs and get approved, so Once I place my order on a site I'll cancel then, I highly doubt anything would happen afterwards
